Renhold and Great Barford

Countryside close to town

Farmland and small villages, with Bedford a short drive west.

Handy for the A1

The A421 runs past Great Barford to the Black Cat junction and the A1.

Room to breathe

Bigger gardens, older cottages and family houses that are harder to find in town.

Renting and selling east of Bedford

East of Bedford the villages spread out along country lanes, and that’s a big part of the appeal.

Renhold isn’t one village so much as a string of “ends” across the parish, including Church End, Top End and Salph End, with a mix of older cottages and family houses. Great Barford sits on the Great Ouse with an old stone bridge and a riverside pub, and makes a good base if you need the A1. Further out, Colmworth and the villages towards St Neots are smaller and more rural again.

Most people here drive, and the A421 makes that easy, west into Bedford for the train or east to the A1. Homes here usually come with more outside space than you’d get for the same money in town.
