Renting and selling in Shortstown and Cardington

You can’t miss Shortstown. It’s south-east of Bedford, right beside the two huge airship sheds at Cardington. The village was first built during the First World War for workers at the Short Brothers airship works, which is where the name comes from, and some of those original houses are still lived in today.

It’s grown a lot since. New estates on the old airfield land have brought modern family homes, a primary school and open space, and New Cardington has added more. Cardington itself, a little to the north, is a small, older village with its church and green.

It’s a good fit for families, or anyone who wants a newer home without being far from Bedford.
