Renting and selling in Rushden and Higham Ferrers
We look after a number of homes over the border in Northamptonshire, mostly in Rushden and Higham Ferrers. The two towns run into each other, and it’s a straightforward drive down the A6 to our Bedford office.
Rushden is the bigger of the two. It was a shoe-making town, and you can still see it in the Victorian terraces near the centre, with newer estates around the edges. Rushden Lakes, off the A45, has changed the area a fair bit, with big-name shops, places to eat and walks around the old gravel pits. Higham Ferrers is smaller and older, with a market square and a lot of character for its size.
Homes here generally cost less than similar ones in Bedford, which draws first-time buyers and tenants who’d rather have the extra bedroom. For trains, Wellingborough station has East Midlands Railway services into London.
